Tanzania Holiday Destinations-National Parks and Reserves

Tanzania is rich with numerous holiday destinations. There are 12 National Parks, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, 13 Game Reserves, 38 Game Controlled Areas and about 120 National Cultural Heritage Sites; in total, almost 27% of the land was given to protected areas.

Tanzania has chattels of natural resources in the parks. You watch in admiration as more than two million herbivores traverse the Serengeti plains in their annual migration from Kenya. Marvel at the Eden-like Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s biggest unbroken caldera. Find out the mystery of our ancestors at Olduvai Gorge or endeavor to climb snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the national parks exploitation of wildlife, it is forbidden and there are no settlements except tourist lodges and tented camps. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area has a special status, as it allows Maasai pastoralists to reside in it, but exploitation of wildlife is still forbidden.
